Kent Family Medical’s Private Mental Health GP
If you’ve been struggling with your mental health and feel stuck between what your GP can offer and what specialist mental health services provide, you’re not alone.
Many people find themselves in this gap – wanting more time to talk through what’s going on, but not quite fitting the criteria for secondary care.
That’s where Kent Family Medical’s private mental health care can help.
We take the time to listen, understand, and get it right.
About Our Private Mental Health GP – Dr Rebecca Prince
Dr Rebecca Prince is an experienced GP with over 20 years in the NHS.
She’s worked in mental health units in both London and West Kent and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychiatry.
Since 2022, she has been running a dedicated mental health clinic for people who need a more in-depth approach – whether that’s a one-off review or ongoing support.

Why Our Private Mental Health Care Appointments Are Different
Instead of a quick consultation, you’ll have up to 45 minutes to go through your full story – your symptoms, your history, what’s been tried before, and how it’s affected your life.
This extra time – with a doctor with mental health expertise – makes it easier to work out whether it’s truly depression or anxiety, or whether something else might be behind your symptoms, such as:
- PTSD or complex PTSD
- Bipolar disorder (type 1 or type 2)
- Personality disorders
- OCD
- The need for onward referral for a neurodivergence assessment (autism/ADHD)
By getting to the heart of what’s going on, you’re more likely to get treatment that actually works for you.
Why the Right Mental Health Diagnosis Matters
When the diagnosis isn’t quite right, treatment can feel like trial and error – and it’s frustrating when nothing seems to help. Our approach means:
- No assumptions—your symptoms are looked at in detail.
- You get a clearer picture of what’s happening.
- The treatment plan is tailored to you.
How You Can Use Our Private Mental Health Service
At Kent Family Medical, you can:
- Book a one-off review to confirm or clarify your diagnosis and plan next steps.
- Arrange ongoing care with regular check-ins and medication reviews.
We will always keep in close contact with your NHS GP so your care is joined-up.
