Kent Family Medical uses software called Heidi to help with note-taking during consultations and documentation. Heidi is a helpful tool that allows your clinician to focus entirely on you during your visit while still allowing them to accurately capture medical information, ensuring a comprehensive and precise record of your care.
Heidi is an ambient voice technology (AVT) powered by artificial intelligence (AI). It uses speech recognition technology to accurately transcribe your consultation with your doctor, creating a written summary of your visit.
This software is designed to assist with administrative tasks and is not used in any way to aid in diagnosing medical issues.
We want you to have confidence in our services; we take your privacy extremely seriously.

How does it work?
- Medical consultations are transcribed by the software using speech recognition.
- Audio is not recorded or stored.
- Transcriptions are processed and stored on UK servers at all times and are automatically deleted at or before 7 days.
- AI powered consultation summaries are generated, reviewed by your clinician, edited if required, and saved to your medical records.
- Data is encrypted at rest, as well as in transit.
