Dr Becky Prince – Expert Private GP in Kent
Dr Becky Prince has worked as a doctor in the NHS for almost 20 years. She has been at the same NHS GP Practice for 13 years and continues to look after patients there part-time, alongside her work at Kent Family Medical. Dr Prince values getting to know her patients well. She always gives time and listens carefully, so she can fully understand their concerns and needs. Dr Becky Prince feels very privileged to have developed a strong relationship with her patients and their families, both in the NHS and the private sector. She values the traditional GP model of continuity of care (seeing the same doctor consistently) and developing individualised treatment plans depending on her patients’ medical needs, their wishes and their beliefs.

As well as her work in the NHS and at Kent Family Medical, Dr Rebecca Prince has previously been a private GP in Kings Hill, West Malling. She has a good understanding of the Kent healthcare system (both NHS and private healthcare) and uses this knowledge to help her patients navigate the system, to ensure they have access to the very best care, at the right time.
Dr Becky Prince is the GP Clinical Lead for Diabetes for Kent and Medway. She is instrumental in setting diabetes strategy across the county but also works hard to ensure her individual patients receive high quality NHS and private diabetes care and reduce their risk of diabetes complications and heart disease.
Dr Prince is also a “GP with an enhanced role in mental health” having gained a postgraduate diploma in psychiatry and worked within the Maidstone mental health team. She holds a Kent-based NHS mental health clinic weekly, working closely with mental health nurses, social services, the voluntary sector and Consultant Psychiatrists. She has experience in managing patients with treatment-resistant depression, complex anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and personality disorders. Dr Rebecca Prince will regularly see patients in her NHS and private psychiatry clinic who need answers to questions such as, “Why are my antidepressants not working?”, “How do I manage anxiety?” and “Do I have Bipolar Disorder?”.
Dr Prince also has significant experience in Women’s Health and NHS and Private Menopause Care. She is a passionate advocate for women who are struggling with their hormones and need support to reduce menopause symptoms, choose a HRT that is right for them and reduce the impact that menopause is having on their day-to-day life. She has diplomas from both the Faculty of Reproductive and Sexual Health and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Dr Becky Prince loves seeing children of all ages, from babies, for their very first baby check, to childhood illness, where parents are worried about their sick child, to teenagers who are struggling with issues such as teenage mental health, teenage period problems, teenage acne and all other conditions. Dr Prince and the team treat all of these concerns Kent Family Medical.
Dr Prince graduated for Cambridge University Medical School in 2004, achieving an undergraduate degree in medical sciences and psychiatry (which included research into perceptual processing in Autism). She stayed at Cambridge University to complete her clinical training at Addenbrookes Hospital. Following her junior doctor hospital roles, she completed her GP training and gained her MRCGP at Guys and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. Dr Rebecca Prince continues her love of learning and academic medicine through her role as an Honorary Visiting Senior Lecturer at Canterbury Christ Church University.
Dr Becky Prince looks forward to welcoming you to Kent Family Medical and continuing to provide a high standard of care for all of our patients.
